Example 1: Measuring a Carton/Box
To get the Length, Width and Height of the carton, simply use a measuring tape.
Length = 65cm
Width = 40cm
Height = 35cm
Now to get the weight of the carton, use a bathroom/bodyweight scale;
- Weigh Yourself Alone:
- Step on the scale and record your weight.
- Make sure you’re standing still and the scale has settled to an accurate reading.
- Weigh Yourself Holding the Box:
- Step on the scale again while holding the box.
- Record the combined weight of yourself and the box.
- Calculate the Weight of the Box:
- Subtract your own weight (first measurement) from the combined weight (second measurement).
- The difference is the weight of the box.
Example 2: Measuring Odd-Shaped Items
To get the Length, Width and Height of the carton, simply use a measuring tape. Take note that you need to record the longest, widest and highest values. This means that if you measure the length at 3 diferrent areas and get 1m, 1.2m and 1.3m, use 0.9m as the length of the item.
Length = 1.3m = 130cm
Width = 1.4m = 140cm
Height = 1.6m = 160cm
Now to get the weight of the carton, use a bathroom/bodyweight scale;
